BRUNTSFIELD'S  BLOOMING

Spring time has arrived and so have our new hanging baskets. Hopefully the sun will start to appear and help them all to bloom.

NEW TO BRUNTSFIELD
The corner site that was the bookmakers will soon be transformed into Cheynes Hairdressers who have chosen to open their 7th Edinburgh branch in Bruntsfield.

Visit Bisque Brasserie a great family friendly eaterie located within the Bruntsfield Hotel, they have recently installed baby changing facilites complete with complimentary wipes .

In the warmer weather you can also choose to eat in the lovely outdoor courtyard located to the rear of the brasserie making it a relaxing and secure location to enjoy family meals.

BRUNTSFIELD FARMER'S MARKET
Some of you may have read the recent articles in the Evening News regarding a proposed farmer's market in Bruntsfield.

This is at the very early stages of discussion at the moment and we would welcome all comments re this.

The proposal is that we would hold a farmers market on the first Sunday of each month (free parking) this would be an opportunity for all local businnesses that sell such an array of wonderful foodstuffs to showcase their produce as well as including selected producers from outwith the area to complement them.

The idea is to create our own regular market similar to the very popular one that is held every week on Castle Terrace.

This could be a great community event perhaps involving local schoolchildren and incorporating , for example, some music or dance. The idea is certainly not to hold "an all singing and all dancing extravaganza to shatter the peace of local residents", (Evening News, 6th april) but to create a regular and relaxing event that can be enjoyed by everyone.
